Wanda Holley

Wanda Jean Holley, 72 of DeQuincy, passed away Thursdauy, Apr. 11, 2024. She was born Jan. 31, 1952 to her parents, Amy L. and Leo T. Perkins of Lunita. She was a devoted housewife, mother, and grandmother. Wanda was a faithful member of The Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy until her health began to fail. She was strongly rooted in her faith and believed her God could do anything, relying on him time and time again. Wanda was a collector of glassware, birds, paintings and Capa Damonte figures which were evident throughout her house. She loved cooking, baking, and planning lunches with her friends and family, especially those associated with growing up in Lunita.

She is survived by her twin sons, Christopher Michael Holley and wife, Kim, and Anthony Dale Holley and wife, Shelly, all of DeQuincy; two daughters, Amanda Nicole Norris of Cullman, Ala. and Tracey Annette Holley of Dayton, Texas. She is also survived by six grandsons, Jesse Paul Norris, Gunner Holley, Wade Holley and Justin Holley, all of DeQuincy, Joseph Norris and Dustin Norris, both of Cullman, Ala.; and one great-grandson, Colter Joseph Holley of DeQuincy; sisters, Mayona “Turtle” McDonald and Delma Perkins, both of DeQuincy, Iona “Nonie” Parker of Singer; two brothers, Carl David “Spud” Perkins and Billy Glen Perkins, both of DeQuincy; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Sidney Holley; parents, Amy L. and Leo T. Perkins, brother, Amos David Perkins; sisters, Bonnie Rosetta Royer, Virginia “Juby” Lee Smith and Letha VanWinkle.

The family received friends 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, Apr. 16, with the funeral service at 11 a.m. The visitation and funeral service were held at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Roy Hoosier and Rev. Wayne Neyland officiated. Interment followed at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
