Tigers to Play Delcambre Friday

The #4 seeded DeQuincy Tigers will finally begin their quest back to the state championship but they will first have to get past the #20 Delcambre Panthers from Iberia Parish.

Delcambre is coming to town fresh off of a first round upset road win last week over Merryville 7-2.

Delcambre has competed in a very tough district against the likes of Loreauville, Catholic-New Iberia, Ascension Episcopal, and Acadiana Renaissance Charter.

The Tigers are looking forward to playing against yet another quality opponent and will look to advance to the quarterfinals!

If DeQuincy wins this game they will play the winner of #5 Lakeside and #12 Logansport. The game will be at home because DeQuincy has earned home field advantage until the state tournament thanks to a top 4 seed.

The game will be on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Earl Treadway Memorial Field here in DeQuincy!

The Merryville Panthers entered the playoffs as the #13 seed and were looking to defend their turf against the #20 Delcambre Panthers. Unfortunately the visiting Panthers proved to be too much for the home-standing Panthers as Merryville’s season comes to an end in the first round.

Blaze Brister pitched all 7 innings and recorded 6 strikeouts.

Cole Mirante went 1-4 with an RBI, Kade Royer went 1-3, Blaze Brister went 1-3, and Landon Ardoin went 1-1 with an RBI.

South Beau, Kinder Clash in Second Round

The Division 3 Non-Select #1 seeded South Beauregard Golden Knights will host a familiar opponent this Friday and Saturday in a best of 3 series against the Kinder Yellowjackets.

#17 Kinder is coming off of a huge road series upset over #16 Marksville.

The Knights beat Kinder 10-4 in district play back on Mar. 27, so Kinder will look to get some revenge on the home standing Knights.

Game 1 will be on Friday at 6 p.m., Game 2 will be on Saturday at 12 p.m. and Game 3 if necessary will also be on Saturday following the conclusion of Game 2.

Good Luck to the Golden Knights!
