Karl Anthony Vars was born Sept. 20, 1950, and passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the age of 73. Karl enjoyed working and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Ann Vars Lopez; siblings, Francis Chapman and husband Ricky, and Robert Wayne Vars and wife Angela; cousin, David Trahan; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lucy Trahan Vars; brother, Rev. Willie Jean Vars and wife Rita Marcantel Vars.
The family received friends from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday, June 17, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Mike Streams officiated. Interment followed at Riley Smith Memorial Park in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth S., DeQuincy.
