David Wayne “Outlaw” Wilkinson was born July 11, 1956, and passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the age of 67. David was a faithful member of The Pentecostal Church in DeQuincy. He enjoyed truck driving and being outdoors. He was a cowboy, he loved working cows and horses. David was a people person who never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Jodie Wilkinson; children, Wendi Hargrave and spouse Dennis, J.W. Clark, David Wayne Wilkinson II, Austin Wilkinson, and Eva Wilkinson and spouse Haley; granddaughter, Caroline Clark; mother, Audrey Haymon and spouse Rev. A. A. Jr.; sisters, Joan Landry and Jane Cooley Hamilton and spouse Rev. James; and brothers, Wiley Cooley and spouse Lynn, and Paul Wilkinson and spouse Martha.
He was preceded in death by his fathers, Paul Wilkinson and Rev. LaVelle Cooley; paternal grandparents, Anna Marie and Claude Wilkinson; and maternal grandparents, Tom and Eula Outlaw.
The family received friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 20, at The Pentecostal Church, 301 W. 4th St., DeQuincy. A graveside service was held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 21, at County Line Cemetery in Willis, Texas.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
