A memorial service for Willard Earl “Bubba” Reid Jr., 62, of Longville, La., was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder.

“Bubba” was born in Natchez, Miss. He lived most of his life in Vidalia, La., and for the past 20 years had resided in Longville. He was a retired carpenter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served a tour of duty in South Korea.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia Ann Reid; two sons, Gregory Aaron Reid of Longville, and Robert Jefferson Reid (Trina) of DeQ., La.; daughter, Jennifer Eaves (Bobby) of Ragley; two sisters, Ann Cathy of Ponchatoula, and Edith Fontenot of Longville; his mother, Betty Jean Skaggs of Longville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Earl Reid Sr.; brother, Thomas Reid; grandson, Clay Reid; and nephew, Casey Compala.

Gerald W. Lindsey, Sr., a resident of Orange, Texas, was born on September 11, 1934 and passed away on October 19, 2017 at the age of 83. He was born in Sulphur Springs, Tex. and moved to Orange at the age of 7. He worked for Dupont Beaumont Works and retired after 35 years of employment. He loved cars and his motorcyles and enjoyed riding. He also loved working in his yard and you could always find him raking leaves, rain or shine. Gerald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Lindsey, sons, Gerald Lindsey, Jr., Chad Lindsey, and Tommy Lindsey and daughter-in--law, Charlene Lindsey, brother-in-law, Doug Venable; his grandchildren, Melissa, Kristina and husband, Stephen, Danielle, Gerald, III, Woneda, Krislie and husband, Royce, Morgan and Michelle along with four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his best friend “Little Buddie”

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Norvel Lindsey and Faye Crane Lindsey, son, Todd Lindsey and grandson, Kristen Lindsey.

The funeral service was held on Sunday, October 22, 2017 beginning at 1 p.m. at Family Worship Center, Orange, Tex. with Pastor Tony Story officiating.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St. DeQuincy.

Shirley Ann Sanders was born on October 13, 1936 in Houston, Tex. and passed away on October 23, 2017 in Tomball, Tex. at the age of 81.

Shirley loved her Lord, her family and all those with whom she was acquainted. She truly lived by the scriptures and anyone who knew her could truly say she was a walking testament of John 13:35 “by this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another”. She was a mother to many, always feeding, providing shelter and sharing the gospel with anyone in need. Shirley never met a stranger and she always looked for the good in everyone. She was one of the world’s greatest cooks and her passion in life was taking care of her family.

She is survived by her children, Sylvia Sanders, Wesley Sanders and wife Renee, Harlan Sanders, Darlene Lindemann and husband, Frank, Marlon Sanders and wife, Betty, Tanya Whitaker and husband, Joey, and Sonya BoBo.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Corey and wife, Brandi, Christy, Monty and wife, Stephanie, Brad and wife, Lori, Amanda, Sarah, Jeannine, Justin, Jordan, Christian, Candace and husband, Taylor, Cody, Waylon, Austin, Bran, Morgan, Keaton, Vidalia and Memphis; her great grandchildren, Sierra, Kaylynn, Lillie, Harper, Zachary, Ethan, Cotton, Cheyenne, Dalton, Aiden and Paisley; daughters-in-law, Nancy Trask and April Sanders; sister, Evelyn Smith; sister-in-law, Marguerite White; lifelong friends, Vera Brake and Betty Jo Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence White, her husband and love of her life, Franklin “Red” Sanders, daughters, Susan Sanders and Cynthia Barton, sons, Tommy Sanders and Lesley Sanders; brothers, Tom Riley “T.R.” White and Johnny White; sisters, Lucille Craig and Jeannie Jones.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 25, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Living Waters Assembly of God Church, 622 Commerce Street Magnolia, Tex.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 26, beginning at 10 a.m. at Living Waters Assembly of God Church. Pastor Mike Colston will be officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Magnolia, Tex.

Veronica Joyce was born August 24, 1967 and died October 18, 2017.

Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2017 at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetary in Starks, La.

A meal will be at Repast Baptist Church, in the Activity Center in Starks.

Arrangements are being handled by Combre Funeral Home.
