Brady James Stafford of Singer was born on Mar. 8, 2007 and passed away on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at the age of 11. Brady was a student in the Sixth Grade of Singer High School in Singer.

He is survived by his parents, Stephen Owen Stafford of Singer and Jenny R. Stafford of Singer; one sister, Zoe Curtis of Hicks; his paternal grandparents, Mark and Madenia Stafford of Columbus, Ohio and maternal grandmother, Helen Gail Frazier of DeRidder; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ronnie Bult.

The family received friends on Sunday, Oct. 28, beginning at 12 noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. The visitation and funeral was held at Riley Smith Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Clyde Clark, Pastor of Smokey Cove Pentecostal Church and Pastor Mark Schultz, Pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church officiated. Interment followed at Newlin Cemetery in Singer.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.

Georgia Elleen Miller, 74, a resident of Ragley was born on Nov. 26, 1943 and passed away on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018.

She is survived by her children, Cyrus Miller of Lake Charles; Robert Miller and wife, Christina of Clemson, S.C.; Angela Edwards of Lake Charles; Brandy Darbonne and husband, Scott of Ragley; and Heather Emmons and husband, Tim of Ragley; along with nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Raymond Corley and wife, Elizabeth of Lenoir N.C.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Miller; her granddaughter, Danielle Miller; and her parents.

The family received friends on Monday, Oct. 29, from 5-8 p.m. at Riley Smith Funeral Home in DeQuincy. The funeral service was held at Riley Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 30, beginning at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Bird Nest Cemetery in Gillis.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.

Steven John Edwards, 32, of DeQuincy was born Oct. 2, 1986, in Hood County, Texas, and passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, in Vidor, Texas. He was a lover of astrophysics, quantum mechanics, and particle physics. His hobbies included his love for the salty air and ocean with bait, reel, and kayak. He was an amazing shark-fisherman; he enjoyed playing darts with his best friends and camping under the stars.

He is survived by his fiancée, Victoria Lynne Strickland; his stepdaughter, Sydni Laine Broussard; his father, Steven John Edwards, Sr. and stepmother, Christeena; his siblings, Stormie Edwards, Austin Edwards, Jasmine Edwards, and Sierra Edwards; his first love -- his niece, Emily Dawn Edwards whom he looked as his own; his other nieces and nephews, Westley, Knightly, Marly, and Ozzley; his grandmothers, Carolyn Monroe and Margaret Ardry; his closest cousin and partner-in-crime, Nathan C. Edwards; his best friend and brother in spirit, Luke A. Woodward; and numerous other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Zephyr Cash Edwards, who is by his side; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Ardry; and his grandfathers, Tommy Ardry and John Edwards.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Riley Smith Memorial Park in DeQuincy where he will be laid to rest by his son, Zephyr. Rev. David Berwick will be officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.

Chester Burton “Big Burt” Bellard Sr., 56, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018.

He was a 1980 graduate of LaGrange High School and was a NACE coating inspector for Natural Energy Field Services.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Bellard of Dry Creek; son, Chester Burton “Lil Burt” Bellard Jr. and wife Kristin of Ragley; siblings, Richard “Ricky” Bellard of Princeton, Tonette Lovett of Haughton, and Becky LaFleur of Big Lake; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Amy Arsement Bellard; and one brother.

Funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 28, at Johnson & Brown Funeral Home with Pastor David Edigo officiating. Burial followed in Dry Creek Cemetery.

Henrietta Hull, 82, of De-Ridder died on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018.

Marvin E. Hull, 78, of De-Ridder died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012. He was a veteran of the Army and Air Force.

There will be no viewing or service.

The children will honor their parents’ request and take them back home to Indian Mound Cemetery in Ithaca, Neb., on June 1, 2019.

Survivors include their daughters, Teresa Havens and Elton R. of Merryville, Pam Cryer and Dale of Longville, and Linda Touchet and Ron of Anacoco; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchilden.
