Obituaries from the February 21 paper.

Rena Eloise Fontenot Stein, 89, of Lake Charles, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Stein was born in Bell City, where she attended school, before moving to Lake Charles and graduating from St. Charles Academy. When her children were younger, she was the head chaperone for the Catholic Youth Organization. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society and an active member of the Catholic Daughters for almost 50 years. She served in numerous offices and twice as Regent for the Catholic Daughters and was proud that her court held four generations of her family.

She is survived by her children, Richard “Tim” Stein of Lake Charles, Mary Jane Guidroz and husband Ronnie of Iowa, Jackie Landry and husband Keith of Moss Bluff, Sue Cavys and husband Sam of Ragley, Mike Stein and wife Sandy of Westlake, Mark Stein and wife Karen of Moss Bluff, Peggy LeBlanc and husband Ray of Sulphur, and Paul Stein of Lake Charles; 21 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin L. Stein; parents, Albert Fontenot and Neely Andrus; one sister, Theresa DeVillier.

A memorial service was held Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Jace Eskind officiated. Private burial was at Lacassine Cemetery.

Mickey Williams, 61 of Florien, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018.

He was born in Leakesville, Miss. He retired after many years in the construction industry.

Survivors include two daughters; Amber (Matt) Danyale McGee of Moss Bluff and Elizabeth (Dustin) Ann Scalia of Ragley; two brothers, Lee Vardaman Williams and Terry Benjamin Williams, both of Texas; one sister, Vicky Dorain Willams of Mississippi; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny B. and Betty Jean Williams; and one son, Kristen Wayne Williams.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Feb. 18, at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.

Patricia Wells, 79, a resident of DeQuincy passed away on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018.
