Herman Mack Foster, 70, of Starks passed from this life on Monday, July 24, 2017.

Herman was born in DeQuincy but lived most of his life in Starks, the place he called home. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and working in his garden. Visiting with his family and friends gave him a lot of enjoyment.

He was a active member of the Lunita Pentecostal Church where he lived his life for the Lord.

Those left to cherish his memory are his spouse of 22 years, Linda Kay Foster of Starks; sons, Thomas Foster and wife Denise of Orange, Texas and Robert Earl Foster of Starks; daughters, Theresa Chambers of Singer, Georgann Barks and husband Patrick and Rhonda Suchanek and husband Mark, all of Starks; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Foster; mother, Thelma Williams; sister, Sandra Ann Foster and grandson, Tony Weber.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 25, from 6-9 p.m. at Lunita Pentecostal Church in DeQuincy. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 26, at 10 a.m. also at Lunita Pentecostal Church. Burial followed at Smith Cemetery in Starks.

Services were under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.

Caroline Ann Jones, 60, of DeQuincy died Sunday night in St. Patrick Hospital.

She is survived by seven brothers and sisters, Patricia Ann Jones-Bell, Joseph Jones Jr., Ella Mae Jones-Buckley, Floyd Oliver Jones, Beverly Doris, all of Westlake, Betty Elaine Lang of Colorado and Charles Ray Jones of DeQuincy.

She was the daughter of Mabel Rigmaiden Jones and Joseph Jones of DeQuincy. They later moved to Sulphur and then Westlake.

Funeral service were held Monday, July 31, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Burial was at Rigmaiden Cemetery in DeQuincy.

Tallen Lee Holland, 26, of Topsy, died Thursday, July 27, 2017 at his residence.

He was born in Lake Charles and lived all of his life in Topsy. He was a graduate of South Beauregard High School where he played on the football team. He began a career welding and had worked with his dad.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Ann Holland; three children, Mason, Bryson and Hazel Holland; parents, Sherwin and Nikki Holland; two brothers, Tanner and Shea Holland, all of Topsy; and maternal grandfather, Steve Reed of DeRidder.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rolland and Willie Mae Holland; and maternal grandmother, Dale Reed.

A funeral service was held on Monday, July 31, at Reeves Bible Church in Reeves. Rev. Glenn Ducharme officiated. Burial followed in the New Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.

Ellen Marie Allen, 72, of Merryville died on Friday, July 28, 2017.

Survivors include her sons, Michael Allen and wife Linda and Mark Wayne Allen and wife Kelley, all of Merryville; brothers, Jimmy Karr and wife Lillian of DeQuincy, Larry Jo Karr and wife Carolyn of Merryville, Dr. Leonard Henry McWilliams, Jr. and wife Cindy of DeRidder; sister, Eva Stark and husband Pard of Merryville; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Allen III; parents, Leonard H. and Delores McWilliams and sister, Sherry Deason.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home with Apostle Michael Allen officiating. Burial followed at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville.

George Thomas ”Tom” Parker was born on July 29, 1954 and passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Michael E. DeBakey VA Center in Houston, Texas. He was a resident of Vidor, Texas.

He is survived by his daughter, Tanya Parker of Lancaster, Ohio; his grandchildren, Eric Christman, II and Nicole Chrisman; brothers, Loyd Parker and wife, Diana of DeQuincy and Steve Parker of Lamont, Iowa; sisters, Lucille Alston of San Antonio, Texas and Norma Jean Bankston of Vidor, Texas, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hardy Parker and Ethel Gilland Parker.

The family received friends on Friday, July 28, from 10-10:30 a.m. at Riley Smith Funeral Home with a graveside service following at 10:30 a.m. at DeQuincy Memorial Park in DeQuincy. Rev. Adrian Littlefield officiated.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.

Robert Lee Duncan, Jr., 66, a resident of Singer passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017.

Robert is survived by his children, Todd of Oregon and Brandy of Carlyss; his mother, Inez Duncan of Singer; his sisters and brothers, Linda Sigmund and husband, Harold of Many, Judy Duncan and fiance’ Pat Dupin of Singer, Betty Martin and husband, Mitch of Sulphur, Kay Sahualla and husband Tony of Many, John Duncan and Bobby Dale Duncan of Westlake and Sharon Duncan of Sulphur; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, May Duncan; and his father, Robert Duncan, Sr.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Aug. 2, from 10-11 a.m. with a memorial service to follow beginning at 11 a.m. The visitation and Memorial Service will be held at Riley Smith Funeral Home in DeQuincy.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
