Retha Carol Hudson, 62, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017

Mrs. Hudson worked for Conoco for over 24 years as Information Coordinator.

Survivors include her husband, Robert “Poss” Hudson of Vinton; son, Robert “Sam” Hudson and Shannon Hanson of Vinton; daughter, Rachelle Hudson and husband Caleb Jeffers of Vinton; four grandchildren; brothers, Mike Pinder and Kenneth Pinder, both of Starks; and sisters, Desta Robinson of Vinton; Donna Edmonds of Burnet, Texas; and Carla Brown of Orange, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ozro Pinder; mother, Bythia Phillips; one brother; and grandmother, Ferbia Smith Phllips.

Funeral service were held Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Gambrell Baptist Church in Starks. Rev. Brad Bickman officiated. Burial followed in Smith Cemetery in Starks.

George Doucet, 85, died on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at his residence. He was born in Churchpoint.

He is survived by his three sons, Ricki Doucet of Moss Bluff, Patrick Doucet and wife Kelly of Singer, and Mark Doucet of Houston; brother, Wilridge Doucet of Westlake; sister, Nelda McManus of Westlake; along with nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Doucet; a son, Michael Doucet; one brother; one sister; along with his parents, Paulus and Mamie Doucet.

Service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake, with Deacon Fred Reed officiating. Burial followed at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.

Gabrielle Ariel Bass was born on July 18, 1990 in Orange, Texas and passed away from a tragic auto accident along with her son, Cole Preston Bass and her sister, Melissa McMillion on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017 in Orange, Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Nicholas “Nick” Bass; daughter, Leah Bass; brothers, Sam Sieber and wife, Christina and Paul Sieber; her sisters, Mary Predo, Christina Cook, Stephanie Buffalo and Betsy Rhodes. She is also survived by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Terry Bass.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Gay Sieber; sisters, Melissa McMillion and Mary Catherine Sieber.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 2, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. at Family Worship Center, 2300 41st Street, Orange Texas. Pastor Tony Story will be officiating. Interment to follow at DeQuincy Memorial Park.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.

Cole Preston Bass, 7, was born on Apr. 19, 2010 in Orange, Texas and passed away from a tragic automobile accident along with his mother, Gabrielle Ariel Bass and his aunt, Melissa McMillion on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017 in Orange, Texas.

Callie Kemp Owens, 68 was born in Bridge City Texas and passed away on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017.

She is surivived by her husband, Doyle Owens of Bridge City, Texas; daughters, Rhonda Bowles of Austin Texas and Leah Cummings of Bridge City, Texas. She is also survived by her brothers, Dale Kemp and wife, Sherry, and Dewey Kemp and wife, Jackie; sisters, Clois Thibodeaux and Kayla Kemp; along with three grandchildren, Mike and Lacey Matlock and Samuel Bradberry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Martin Kemp and Helen Carlin Kemp.
