James Whitfield Holmes III “Bozie”, 68, of Abbeville died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019 at AMG Specialty Hospital – Park Place Campus, Lafayette. A celebration of life service will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a eulogy beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, at Vincent Funeral Home in Abbeville.
He served in the US National Guard, Company B, Fourth Battalion, Fort Polk. He graduated from Abbeville High in 1968 and attended USL for two years.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Arceneaux Holmes; son, James W. Holmes IV and wife, Brandi Lasseigne Holmes; daughter, Keisha Danielle Holmes; three grandchildren; and one brother, Richard Holmes.
He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Holmes Jr.; mother, Loretta Hebert Holmes; paternal grandparents, James Holmes and Evelina Mills Holmes; and maternal grandparents, William Hebert and Noemi Choate Hebert.
