Ruth Elizabeth Chaumont, 79, of Moss Bluff, died on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019.
She was born in Sumter, S.C., but lived in Moss Bluff since 1972. She lived in Germany for three years, France for four years as part of her 20 years of being an Air Force wife. She worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board as a school bus driver and as a registrar of voters in Moss Bluff.
She is survived by her husband, Warren Chaumont; sons, Andre Chaumont (Sharon) of Ragley; Maurice Chaumont (E. Grey Talley) of Pollock; daughter, Collette George (Ronnie) of Moss Bluff; brothers, Tom Hodge of Charleston, S.C.; Howard Hodge of Greatfalls, S.C.; sister, Margaret Henderson of Sumter, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace Hodge and Ruth Carroll Hodge; daughter, Sharon Weeks; and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Sunday, Jan. 27. Burial followed at Highland Memory Garden in Lake Charles.
