City Council to discuss sewer loan

The DeQuincy City Council will meet Monday, Mar. 11, at 6 p.m. in City Council Chambers at DeQuincy City Hall, 300 N. Holly St.

Items on the agenda include the introduction of two ordinances concerning the city sewer system. One will authorize the mayor to get a loan of $1.2 million from Sabine State Bank to upgrade the sewer plant and the other will change sewer rates for customers connected to the city sewer system.

Marjorie Harrison, director of the Calcasieu Parish Public Library system, will speak to the Council.

The Council will discuss potential action on a house next to 130 Khalon Street, the possible sale of the building at 211 N. Pine Street, and may authorize the mayor to take action on bids for surplus city vehicles.

Council members will bring up concerns from their districts.

The public is welcome to attend. If you need special assistance, contact Pat Brummett at 786-8241.
