Women’s Ministry
In November of 1979, Melvin Dowers founded First Assembly of God in DeQuincy with prayer meetings being held in the old hardware building. Starting in an old barn on Plum Street, the church began with twelve members, with the first official service held on Jan. 14, 1980.
Over a period of 40 years, the church has had several great pastors, including the late Rev. Ken and Dolores Hooper who pastored the church for 11 years. It was under their pastorship that the church was renamed Full Life Assembly.
In December of 2007, Pastor Greg Cavenah and his family joined Assembly of God agreeing to pastor the flock on a full time basis. Full Life is affiliated and under the direction of the La. District Council of Assemblies of God in Alexandria.
Since the time of Pastor Greg’s leadership, Full Life has constructed a new Worship sanctuary to hold the number of increasing members. The first service was held in their new facility in November of 2010. In 2015 they celebrated the grand opening of the Children’s Worship Facility and Fellowship Hall.
Full Life Offers:
Sunday mornings – Sunday school, for adults and children, at 9:00 a.m., with regular Sunday Worship services and “Under the Big Top with Jesus” Children’s Church services beginning at 10 a.m. Full Life Baby Church is provided for ages 0-3.
Ignite Youth Ministries meet every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m., in the Youth Hall, led by a Team of Leaders Dedicated to the vision to equip young people with the Word of God, and provide them with the tools they need to fulfill the call of God on their life. Along with the teaching and equipping, we also plan outings which involve fun time allowing all the young people to build strong healthy relationships.
Kidz Life for Girls and Boys, age 4-12, also enjoy Wednesday night of Worship, learning God’s Word, Crafts and Games. Adult Worship and Bible Study are held in the main sanctuary at this time also.
Alternating Tuesday evenings are for all who are battling addictions and life issues that need an “extra” hand in getting a hold on these battles. Pastor Greg’s mother, Patsy Cavenah, ministers on a one to one basis and in a group setting. Patsy is the founder of Lighthouse Ministries in Reeves, a child’s residential and home for unwed mothers.
We have groups that are beneficial for times of fun, fellowship and learning about one another, as a family of God, held throughout the year.
Full Life Assembly is a mission minded church, with people who love helping with projects within our community. We love meeting all the new faces and meeting you at our Annual Harvest Festival and the Railroad Festival. We also give to worldwide, international and foreign missions. We want to be the hands and feet of Jesus and reach the lost and dying world for the cause of Christ. Our Vision Statement is “ Where you have no past, only a future”, and we are restoring hope and renewing vision.
Ignite Youth Ministry
We are on fire for the presence of God. Teens ages 13-18 are encouraged to join our youth every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. for a fun filled night of discipleship and fellowship.

Under the Big Top
A kids ministry where we are learning how to “Follow Jesus as the Ring Leader” of our lives, as we become the generation of visionaries. Boy and girls, ages 4-12, meet in the CC Building (north wing) every Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
Joel 2:28 I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy…..your young men will see visions.
Men’s Ministry
