Singer Hornets Baseball

By Mike Streams

Rain has been playing havoc with the Singer Hornets baseball program as they have had to cancel some games as well as move some to alternative locations.

Last Thursday night, the Hornets played host to the Northside Christian team in a district contest. Due to the rain, the Hornets had to move the ball game to South Beauregard High School.

The Hornets held strong though the first few innings against the number two ranked team in private schools. Tate Hess was on the mound for the Hornets and kept the Warriors off balance through five innings but the Hornets would end up falling to the Warriors 12-2 in seven innings.

Top hitters for the Hornets were Gavin Sandifer with two hits and Tate Hess with one.

On Monday night, Apr. 15 the Hornets traveled to Evans for a contest that the Hornets won 8-4. Tye Hess was the winning pitcher for the Hornets.
