Last weekend, the Golden Knights from South Beauregard hosted Kaplan in the regional round of the LHSAA Class 3A state playoffs. It was a best two out of three with game one being played Friday night seeing the Golden Knights earning the victory 3-0.
Setting up Saturday only needing one win to punch their ticket to the quarterfinals round. Game two of the series saw Kaplan sneak by the Golden Knights 6-5, therefore setting up game three to decide the winner that would advance.
The Golden Knights were not to be denied as they defeated Kaplan 6-5 to advance as well as host Eunice this Friday and Saturday in the class 3A playoffs.
Game times are Friday, May 3, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 4, at 1 p.m. and game three, if needed, at 3:30 p.m.
