John Mueller was born on July 15, 1966 and passed away on Sunday, Apr. 28, 2019 at the age of 52.
John graduated from DeQuincy High School in 1984 and McNeese State University in 1988. After graduating from college, he moved to Arlington, Texas where he was employed as General Manager of Walk Ons in South Arlington. Even though he moved from DeQuincy over 30 years ago, DeQuincy was always home. He was an avid sports fan and a huge supporter of the Texas Rangers, LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. He was also an avid golfer. He loved his family and friends and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his siblings, Shelli Richard and husband, Steve of DeQuincy, Jeff Mueller of Carlyss and Kelly Mueller Conway of Katy, Texas and his sister-in-law, Laurie Mueller. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Amy and husband Kory, Matt and wife, Sarah, Kaci, Tyler and wife, Jacqueline, Tayler and husband Kaine, Jayme and husband, Danny, Jade and husband, Teryl, Cassidy and Colin, along with numerous great nephews, great nieces and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Sharon Mueller; brother, Christopher Todd Mueller; brother-in-law, Joe Conway; and nephew, Ryan Richard.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Riley Smith Funeral Home in DeQuincy with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1. The family will also receive friends Thursday, May 2, from 9-10:30 a.m. at Riley Smith Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church with Very Reverend Edward J. Richard, M.S. officiating. Interment will follow at Riley Smith Memorial Park in DeQuincy.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
