Starks High School Track team advanced four to the state medals podium:
1st Place Girls State Class C 400m dash Dana Shelton, Gold Medalist;
2nd Place Girls State Class C Discus Abbie Clark, Silver Medalist;
3rd Place Boys State Class C Shot Put Kaleb McClelland, Bronze Medalist;
3rd Place Girls State Class C 100 m hurdles Keleigh Phillips, Bronze Medalist.
The Starks Track and Field team qualified in 15 events for the Allstate Sugarbowl Track & Field State Meet. The LHSAA state meet was held on Thursday, May 2 at the LSU Bernie Moore Stadium.
This is Dana Shelton’s second 400m dash medal. She took home a Bronze Medal last year with a time of 1:04.92 and came back this year with a time of 1:03.91 to take home the Gold.
