CITY OF DEQUINCY
ORDINANCE NO. 912
AN ORDINANCE to amend Ordinance No. 784 to provide for rates and charges to customers of DeQuincy, Louisiana, for the use of the sewer system.
The City Council of the City of DeQuincy, State of Louisiana, met in regular session on the 13th day of May 2019, and adopted the following Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 784 to read and be applied as hereinafter shown.
WHEREAS, the City of DeQuincy supplies sewer service to customers in the city limits and customers outside of the city limits.
WHEREAS, the City of DeQuincy has not raised the cost of sewer service since 1995.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council that Ordinance No. 784 is hereby amended to set the rates for sewer service for all customers to be increased as follows:
Residential property in the City Limits – $16.00 per month. Beginning in 2020, the rate will be $18.00 per month. Beginning in 2021, the rate will be $20.00 per month. Beginning in 2022 the rate will be $22.00 per month. Beginning in 2023 and each succeeding year, the monthly rate will be increased by 4% at the beginning of each new year.
Residential property outside the City Limits – $20.00 per month. Beginning in 2020, the rate will be $22.00 per month. Beginning in 2021, the rate will be $24.00 per month. Beginning in 2022 the rate will be $26.00 per month. Beginning in 2023 and each succeeding year, the monthly rate will be increased by 4% at the beginning of each new year.
Commercial property in or outside the City Limits – double the current rate for each customer for the remainder of 2019. In 2020 the rate for each customer will be increased by $2.00 per month. In 2021 the rate for each customer will be increased by $2.00 per month. In 2022 the rate for each customer will be increased by $2.00 per month. In 2023 and succeeding year, the rate for each customer will be increased by 4% per year.
Said Ordinance having been introduced on the 8th day of April, 2019, by notice of Public Hearing having been published on the 17th day of April, 2019, said Public Hearing having been held, title having been read and Ordinance considered, on motion by Ronda Jacobs, seconded by Judy Landry to adopt the Ordinance. A record vote was taken and the following result was had:

ABSENT: 1
This Ordinance was declared duly adopted this 13 day of May 2019.
