ORDINANCE NO. 914
An Ordinance to sell Immovable property located on Pine Street to Alvin Dale Smith
The City Council of the City of DeQuincy, State of Louisiana, met in regular session on the 10th day of June, 2018, and adopted the following Ordinance regarding the sale of immovable property from the City of DeQuincy to Alvin Dale Smith, husband of Susan Gail Abston Smith, purchasing the below described property with his separate funds as his separate property.
WHEREAS, the City of DeQuincy has been contacted by Alvin Dale Smith regarding the purchase of the property located on Pine Street.
WHEREAS, The City Council has determined in accordance with LRS 33:4712 that the subject property is not needed for public purposes and that the price of $8,000.00 offered for the property by Alvin Dale Smith is fair and reasonable and should be accepted.
WHEREAS, the City Council has further determined that the proposed use of the property by Alvin Dale Smith as an addition to the Church he pastors located on the adjoining lot would be beneficial to the community.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council that Mayor Riley Smith is hereby authorized to execute an Act of Cash Sale from the City of DeQuincy to Alvin Dale, husband of Susan Abston Smith, purchasing the below described property with his separate funds as his separate property, for the sum and price of $8,000.00, to be paid in cash upon proper execution and delivery of the said Act of Cash Sale. The property to be sold by the City of DeQuincy to Alvin Dale Smith is described as follows:
Lot Four (4) of Block One (1), Lillieburg Addition to the City of DeQuincy, being in the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (SW/4 of SW/4) of Section 18, Township 7 South, Range 10 West, as per plat recorded in Plat Book 2, page 230, records of Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, together with all improvements situated thereon.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that Mayor Riley Smith is hereby authorized to execute any and all other papers, documents and acts necessary to complete the sale of the above described property by the City of DeQuincy to Alvin Dale Smith with the said papers, documents, and acts containing such terms, conditions and provisions as he in his discretion deems meet and proper.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance shall become effective ten (10) days after its passage.
This Ordinance was declared duly adopted this 13 day of May, 2019.
