Edward Mathew Gore, Sr., a resident of Starks, was born on September 16, 1950 and passed away on May 18, 2019 at the age of 68.
He is survived by his children, Addie Mae Greenfield of Orange, Texas; Theresa Ann Cole and husband, John Michael of Starks; Edward Mathew Gore, Jr. of Forest Heights, Texas; and Michael Lewis Gore of Starks, along with 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Larry Glenn Gore of Kentwood; Rebecca Ann Falcone of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; Elton Wayne Gore, Sr. of Starks; Marvin Lewis Gore, Sr. of Starks; Terry Lynn Gore, Sr. of Buna, Texas; Debra Jean Gore of Vinton; Jomay Gore of Merryville and Karen Sue Francis of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Margaret Gore, parents, Hardy Lewis Gore and Lorie Corsey Gore; granddaughter, Nicole Stains, siblings; Robert Earl Gore, Sr., Jimmy Eugene Gore, Sr., and Lorie Dianne Johnson.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Riley Smith Funeral Home in DeQuincy and the funeral service was held at the funeral home 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25. Interment followed at Doyle Cemetery, Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 West Fourth Street, DeQuincy.
