Kendra Suchanek and Raymond Green graduated from Calcasieu Parish Drug Court on Tuesday, June 25, after an extensive training program for the past 18 months.
Judge Mike Canaday and Judge David Ritchie of the 14th Judicial District oversee every aspect of the program and meet weekly with the participants.
The program’s participants are drug screened daily throughout the program and must seek and gain meaningful employment.
The training includes a plea in/observation section and four different phases. With each phase the participant gains a little more freedom. They meet weekly with counselors. The final phase is called Maintenance and the participant still has to meet the same testing requirements during this phase that leads up to graduation.
They were both issued certificates of their accomplishments from Judge Canaday and Judge Ritchie and graduation was attended by many friends, family and supporters.
