DeQuincy’s Cooper Hext helped lead Team Louisiana to its second Southeastern Underclassmen Shootout championship in three years Thursday. The Shootout was held June 24-27 at Troy University in Alabama.
Hext hit a walk-off RBI triple to beat Team Florida Wednesday 4-3. Louisiana beat Mississippi 6-5 in eight innings in the championship game.
Hext will be a senior at DeQuincy High School this coming year.
