Albert “ A. J.” Shirley, a resident of Longville passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the age of 96.
He is survived by his cousin, David Mabile and wife, Faye of Longville and his close friend, Danny Reeves of Ragley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Shirley; parents, Richard Valentine Shirley and Margaret Shirley; numerous sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, July 8, at Riley Smith Funeral Home in DeQuincy. The funeral service began at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Wayne Kite officiated and interment followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
