Elaine Hyatt Doyle, a native of Starks was born on Aug. 6, 1939 and passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the age of 79.
She was a faithful member of First Pentecostal of Church of Starks; one of the last prayer warriors. Her favorite things to do were go to church and spend time with her family and friends. She loved to laugh and enjoyed playing games, especially “Aggravation”. She will always be remembered for her pancakes and pecan pie. Nanny will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her family.
She is survived by her children, Lynn Doyle and wife JoAnn of DeQuincy and Lisa Monson and husband, Tommy of Starks; grandchildren, Brooklyn Leach and husband, Randy, Brodie Smith and wife, Chelsea, Devin Doyle and wife, Brandi, Zane Doyle and wife, Lexi, Melany Monson, Melissa Ashby and husband, Cole; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Brenda and Jean who were cousins but felt more like sisters (a/k/a the goats), along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Len Doyle; father, J. V. Hyatt, step-father, Sam Stanley; and mother, Martha Stanley.
The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at First Pentecostal Church, 225 Hwy. 109 S., Starks. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, at the church. Pastor Karl Smith and Rev. Devin Doyle officiated. Interment followed at Doyle Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
