Marvin Lewis “Flapjack” Gore, Sr., a native and resident of Starks was born Sept. 7, 1956 and passed away Monday, Aug. 12, 2019 at the age of 62.
He is survived by his son, Marvin Lewis Gore, Jr. and wife, Sara of Starks; grandchildren, McKaila, McKenzie, Nathan, Abigail and Jace; siblings, Larry Glenn Gore of Kentwood, Rebecca Ann Falcone of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Elton Wayne Gore, Sr. of Starks, Terry Lynn Gore, Sr. of Buna, Texas, Debra Jean Gore of Vinton, Jomay Gore of Merryville, and Karen Sue Francis of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hardy Lewis Gore and Lorie Corsey Gore; siblings, Edward Gore, Sr., Robert Earl Gore, Sr., Jimmy Eugene Gore, Sr., and Lorie Dianne Johnson.
The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 16, from 5-8 p.m. at Riley Smith Funeral Home in DeQuincy and the funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Riley Smith Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Doyle Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
