The DeQuincy Tigers drove some 3 1/2 hours down the road to New Roads to take on the Hornets of Catholic Point Coupee. The Hometown Hornets proved to not be very good hosts downing the guests by a final score of 46-22.

Coach Charlie Smith had the Tigers ready to play as they came out and jumped right on the scoreboard quick with a 8 yard pass from Gunnar Gearen to Rayden Rosalis good for a 8-0 lead after a successful 2-point conversion from Gearen to Cooper Hext. However, the lead was short lived as Catholic would score the next 38 points to put the Tigers in a hole they would not be able to climb out of on this Friday night.

The bright spots for the Tigers were Sophomore Taije Ceaser and his 65 yard jaunt into the end zone. Cooper Hext then scored on a long 68 yard pass from Gearen. The extra point was tacked on by a Corben Royer run. That closed out the DeQuincy Scoring. Catholic PC tacked on one more meaningless touchdown to close out the scoring for the night. DeQuincy falls 46-22 but showed some real potential to score.

Leading passer was Gunner Gearen with 142 yards on 7 of 21 passing with 2 interceptions.

Leading rusher was Taije Ceaser with 83 yards on 13 carries.

Leading receiver was Cooper Hext with 4 grabs for 93 yards.

Next up will be the Lake Arthur Tigers.
