Maryann Swiney

Maryann Ella Swiney, a resident of DeQuincy, was born on Apr. 8, 1952 in Conroe, Texas and passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at the age of 67. Maryann was a faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. She loved her children. She enjoyed sewing and she was known for her banana pudding. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, John W. Swiney, Lee Ann Swiney and Janice Marie Swiney, all of DeQuincy; brothers, Jim Glover and wife, Beverly, and Albert Jay Glover; sisters, Betty Jean Roden and husband, Richard, Alice Brooks and husband, Conrad and Omega Marie Glover.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Swiney; parents, William and Lola Glover.

Visitation was held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at First United Pentecostal Church, 230 Smith Street, in DeQuincy, with a funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. T. D. Cardwell, Pastor Carlton “Carlie” Jackson, Jr. and Rev. Trace Buxton officiated. Immediately following the service she was laid to rest by her husband, J.W. Swiney at Riley Smith Memorial Park in DeQuincy.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
