Marian Kimball

Marian LeBlanc Kimball, 90, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019 in New Braunfels, Texas, following a brief illness. Funeral services were conducted at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Cemetery in New Braunfels on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 19 and 20. Services were arranged by Zoeller Funeral Home.

She was born in DeQuincy on July 23, 1929, to Lawrence and Rita LeBlanc, the fifth of nine children. As a youngster, when not caring for younger siblings, Marian worked in her father’s (Soda Pop LeBlanc) bottling plant, DeQuincy Bottling Works. As a contribution to the war effort during high school, she volunteered to write letters to some of the local boys serving in the military. One of those was a neighbor from two doors down First Street who was serving in the Pacific. She and Orvil Kimball began dating after his return from the Navy and married in 1948.

Marian is survived by her children, Steve Kimball and wife Jackie of Montgomery, Texas, Dr. Vic Kimball and wife Judy of Friendswood, Texas, Teri Taylor and husband David of New Braunfels, Texas; sisters, Mercedes Pierson of Beaumont, Texas, Mary Agnes (Putsy) Sliman of Biloxi, Miss.; and brother, James LeBlanc of Baton Rouge; as well as 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Orvil (OV) Kimball; her parents; siblings, Ethel Palma, Elton LeBlanc, Thelma Pinder, Lawrence LeBlanc, and Rita Joyce LeBlanc.
