Michael Perkins

Michael D. Perkins, 71 of Dayton, N. J. died on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro, N.J. Born in DeQuincy, he resided most of his life in South Brunswick, N.J.

He was a U.S. Army veteran (Vietnam War) attached to the White House Communications. He later enlisted in the Army Reserves and was called up during Operation Desert Storm. He retired in 2010 with over 40 years of service as a Communications Technician with Verizon, East Brunswick, N. J. He was a member of the American Legion, long time volunteer with Monmouth Junction Fire Department and a set builder for plays at Crossroads South School.

He is survived by his wife Susan (Chabina) Perkins; son Michael J. Perkins, daughter, Brittany and son-in-law Michael Werkheiser, sister Carolyn Bunch and husband Jerry; and grandson, Jack M. Werkheiser.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alroy and Mary L. (McDaniel) better known as “Mack” Perkins; and brother John Wayne Perkins.

Funeral service was held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, at M. J. Murphy Funeral Home at New Road, Monmouth Junction, N. J.

Visitation was held Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of service.
