Margaret Imogene Wood, 88, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, at a care facility in Kinder. She was born and raised in El Dorado, Ark. She moved with her husband from El Dorado to Richmond, Texas, to Opelousas to Hankamer, Anahuac and Mont Belvieu, Texas, before finally settling in Ragley in 1976. She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Ragley.
She is survived by her son, Gary Wood and wife Beverly of Katy, Texas; daughter, Melissa Thornton and husband James of Ragley; brother, G. F. “Bud” Cates of El Dorado, Ark.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Clifford Cates and Lela Lessie Ward Cates; husband, Kennie Ray Wood; daughter, Belinda Jean Wood; two sisters; and step-mother, Clara Belle Cates.
Funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 4, at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff. Rev. Kelly Craft officiated. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley.
