Dexter Lance Ashworth, a native and resident of Starks was born on May 10, 1952 and passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019 at his residence at the age of 67.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ashworth; son, Richard Ashworth of Starks; daughter, Kelly Williams and husband, Lance of Santa Fe, Texas; nephew/son, Robert Peters and wife, Emily of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler and Breanna “Breezy”. He is also survived by his brothers, Danny Ashworth and wife, Debbie of Starks and Mike Ashworth and wife, Barbara of Starks.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dexter Lance “Killer” Ashworth, II; and his parents, Luke Richard Ashworth, Jr. and Bessie Ann Gillis Ashworth.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 at First Baptist Church, 128 Highway 109 N., Starks. The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the church. Interment followed at Gillis Family Cemetery in Starks. Pastor Ron Butler officiated.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
