In his younger years, Macky enjoyed bull riding and going to the rodeo. Later in life, he looked forward to his daily trips to Hopewell Store to drink coffee and visit with the guys. He also enjoyed sightseeing. Macky was liked by all who knew him and loved dearly by his family.

Surviving family includes wife, Melvene Brantley of Oakwood, Texas; sons, Cork Brantley (Diane) of Buffalo, Texas, Shannon Dale “Bull” Brantley (Tina) of Ragley, and Kendall Brantley (Wendy) of Centerville, Texas; daughters, Mary Sue Duncan of DeRidder, and Kim Nichols (James) of Centerville, Texas and daughter-in-law, Kim Brantley of Starks.
