Tigers post win for senior night

By Mike Suchanek

Final score DeQuincy 41, Vinton 38. Senior night, last home game that’s guaranteed for nine seniors, was not a disappointment as the Tigers came out on top of rival Vinton mostly led by the seniors. DeQuincy recovered 3 turnovers on the night all by seniors.

DeQuincy jumped out to the early 6 point lead on a 15 yard run by Senior Cooper Hext. Vinton then jumped on the Tigers and scored the next 2 scores to take a 14-6 lead but it was short lived as DeQuincy scored the next four touchdowns.

DeQuincy led at the half 27-14. Vinton made a good run at it getting within 4 points at 34-30 before the Tigers scored on a 32 yard pass reception by Senior Braylon Snell from Gunner Gearen with the extra point by Cooley to widen the score to 41-30. Vinton added a late score to get the score to 41-38. Vinton had a attempted onside kick but it did not travel the required 10 yards and DeQuincy took over possession and ran the last 30 seconds off the clock with a simple kneel down.

DeQuincy was once again lead in passing by Gunner Gearen who was 12 of 22 for 210 yards and 3 touchdowns passing.

Taije Ceaser lead the ground attack with a very good night 22 carries for 143 yards. Cooper next added 47 yards rushing on 4 carries.

Leading receivers were Cooper Hext with 5 catches for 75 yards, Braylon Snell 3 catches for 44 yards, Taije Ceaser 1 catch for 35 yards and Rayden Rosalis 3 catches for 26 yards.
