DeQuincy versus Rosepine

DeQuincy traveled up to Rosepine to take on the Eagles in hopes of securing a road victory to bolster their power rating heading in to the playoffs.

Things did not go the Tigers way as Rosepine came out ready to bolster their own playoff chances on senior night for the home standing Eagles.

Rosepine came out victorious 38-21 on this cold night.

DeQuincy kicked off the scoring with a 1-yard run by Taije Ceaser. Rosepine then scored the next two touchdowns to take a 14-6 lead. DeQuincy tied it back up thanks to a 14 yard run by Cooper Hext and a successful 2-point conversion by quarterback Gunner Gearen. Rosepine was able to score once again prior to halftime to take a 21-14 halftime lead.

After the half, Rosepine tacked on a 25 yard field goal to go up 24-14. Cooper Hext closed out the scoring for the Tigers by hauling in a 10 yard pass from Gearen with the Hadley Cooley kick making the score 24-21. From that point, Rosepine tacked on two touchdowns to extend the score to 38-21 which the Rosepine defense held up and held the Tigers out of end zone the rest of the game.

Leading rusher for the game was Taije Ceaser with 83 yards.

Leading receiver was Cooper Hext with 31 yards Gunner Gearen was leading passer with 121 yards.

The Tigers hope to regroup and will be hosting Capitol this Friday night in DeQuincy. Hope to see you there. Go Tigers!
