DeQuincy High Cross Country team recently hosted the District 5AA meet in DeQuincy.
The DeQuincy Industrial Airpark was the location of the meet. Five of the 6 district teams competed for the district Championships. There were three races.
First up was the Girls varsity race which is 3.1 miles. DeQuincy team members, Mayah Emigh finished 6th, Bianca Barnes finished in 10th and Hanna Emigh finished 11th.
Next up was the Boys varsity race, also 3.1 miles. DeQuincy team members, Dylan Conner finished 8th, and Caleb Royer finished in 10th place.
Finally the 2-mile junior varsity race was run.
The District Champions for the Girls are Rosepine and The District Champions for the boys are Rosepine.
The top ten finishers move on to compete in the regional meet to be held at a later date.
