Vera Runions Smith, a resident of DeQuincy was born on Sept. 20, 1937 in Santa Fe, Tenn. and passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019 at the age of 82.
She is survived by her children, Chuck Willis and wife, Melissa of DeQuincy, Butch Willis and wife, Melanie of DeRidder, and Michelle Darbonne and husband, Kent of Hackberry; seven grandchildren, Heather Willis, Jessica Willis, Keelie Quinn and husband, Caleb, Kennedy Darbonne, Reagan Darbonne, Ashtin Willis and Kaden Willis; eight great-grandchildren; and her bonus daughters, Wallice Crewell and Ruby Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kandy Willis; grandson, Daniel Willis; parents, Eddie Runions and Polly Elizabeth McNabb Runions; and six siblings.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Riley Smith Funeral Home in DeQuincy with a Memorial Service to begin at 12 noon Saturday, Nov. 16.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
