Civic Club holiday events great success

DeQuincy Civic Club hosted the 2019 Parade of Homes/Taste of the Holidays/Trail of Lights events on Saturday, Dec. 7.

The following homes were on the tour: Austin and Emily Clark, Rory and Amy Mueller, Riley and Rebecca Smith, Jessie and Jennifer Collins; the LeBlanc Family Fort (Amie LeBlanc); and Studio 3 Salon (Tracy Craft-Mitchell and Theresa Dickerson).

The Taste of the Holidays held at Bible Baptist Church Family Center featured club members’ favorite holiday salads, entrees, party foods and desserts which were all prepared for attendees to sample as well as published a cookbook for them to take home. Some of the holiday foods presented were: Shrimp Bisque, Pastalaya, Boudin Dip, Texas Trash Dip, Triple Layer Cracker Toffee Bars, Snicker Doodle Apple Cobbler, Berry Cheesecake Salad and more. The Trail of Lights Peoples Choice Award was given to Julian and Stephanie Boykin.

Proceeds from ticket sales benefit academic and vocational scholarships, as well as grants given to local graduating high school seniors.

The 2019 Civic Pride Award was given to Heather Royer.
