Roger Melvin Myers, Jr, 68, of DeQuincy, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019 at The Care Center of DeQuincy.
He was born to his late parents, Roger Myers, Sr. and Marjorie Perkins Myers in Houston, Texas on Nov. 11, 1951. He enjoyed reading, watching football and sports in general. He was a graduate of Northwestern University where he received his Masters Degree in Biology and Education.
He is survived by his son, Marcus Myers of DeQuincy; daughter, Melissa Shue and husband Anthony of Mauriceville, Texas; brother, Timothy Myers and wife Susan of Singer; along with five grandchildren, Triston Myers, Brandon Myers, Natalie Shue, Nickole Meredith, and Tony Shue.
Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Dollar.
Services were entrusted to Hixson-Snider Funeral Home, 205 E. Harrison, DeQuincy.
