The City Council of the City of DeQuincy met in special session on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 6:00p.m. at their regular meeting place located at 300 North Holly Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana with the following members present: Ronda Jacobs, Judy Landry, Denise Maddox and Mark Peloquin. Absent: Daisy Cole.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Denise Maddox and the roll was called with the above result.
Items On the Agenda:
Alice Danclair asked what the LGAP funds will be used for.
Mayor Smith mentioned Council Member Daisy Cole was out of state for the Thanksgiving Holiday and then went on to explain what equipment we needed to order this week for the playground at the Railroad Park Museum. He asked that the council approve Phase I of the new playground renovation in order to avoid 7% increase that will go into
effect on December 1, 2019. Mayor Smith also asked that a committee be formed to make a decision on the entire expansion planned for the park. The committee will be Mark
Peloquin, Lynn Treme and Mayor Smith. A motion was made by Mark Peloquin and seconded by Ronda Jacobs to allow the Mayor to go forth with ordering the equipment for Phase 1 of the park expansion. Motion carried as follows: Yeas: Judy Landry, Denise Maddox, Ronda Jacobs and Mark Peloquin.
Nays: None. Absent: Daisy Cole.
Mayor Smith explained the money LGAP grant would be for painting City Hall, replacing the rotting wood around City Hall and new landscaping around City Hall. Amotion was made by Ronda Jacobs and seconded by Judy Landry to approve the LGAP grant application. Motion carried as follows: Yeas: Judy Landry, Denise Maddox, Ronda Jacobs and Mark Peloquin. Nays: None. Absent: Daisy Cole.
There being no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Judy Landry and seconded by Ronda Jacobs to adjourn the meeting.
