James W. “Wild Willie” Stains, a resident of Starks, was born Jan. 13, 1946 and passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 at the age of 74. He was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church in Starks.
He is survived by his children, James Glenn Stains and wife, Andrea, Carroll Stains and wife, Cindy, Carolyn Ann Langley and husband Pat, Luther Stains, Jack Stains, Serena Perkins and husband, Ronnie, Christine Alegria, Crystal Stains, Michelle Ware and husband, Kevin, Melissa Foreman and husband, Troy, Pate Stanley, Jr. and wife, Rachel, Gloria Butler and husband, Mark, Douglas (Dougie) Buster, Phyllis Buster and Kimberly Ruggles; numerous grandchildren; and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Martha Mae Miller, Nellie Steele and William Hardy Perkins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Stains; daughter, Sherry Langley; grandson, Daniel Alexander; and his parents, Jack Willis Stains and Syble Burch Stains.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 and 12 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 at Hargrove Pentecostal Church, 1079 Hwy 389, DeQuincy with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Rev. Jeremy Shields, Rev. Anthony Kennon and Rev. Paul Nugent officiated. Interment followed at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
