Funeral services for Dorothy J. Rankins, 68, of DeQuincy will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, in DeQuincy at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. James Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Community Cemetery under the direction of Stevens’ Funeral Home.
She died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of DeQuincy. She was a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. She was a teacher’s aide at DeQuincy Middle School for 25 years.
At Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, she was member of the choir and mission department.
Survivors include her spouse, John B. Rankins Jr. of DeQuincy; daughter, Charlcye Jeanise Rankins of DeQuincy; and sisters, Clarece Ball of Houston, Texas and Minnie Frank of DeQuincy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ola and Clarence Ball Sr. of DeQuincy
