Eighth annual Red & White Valentine Banquet held

LOVE Community Mission celebrated their 8th Red and White Valentine’s banquet, which was sponsored by Cycle Knights of Port Arthur, Texas. Walter and Retha Payne were named this year’s 2020 Valentine Queen and King.

There was a moment of silence to remember Ceola Marburgh, the mission’s first 2015 parade mashal; Mayola Griffin, 2016 parade marshal; Ann Boyd, 2017 valentine queen; Rose Jones, 2017 parade marshal; all of our seniors who are no longer with us; and our beloved veterans. Also remembered were Leo Garrett, Texas Cycle Knight and John Pettaway, Shreveport Mighty Ambassador.

Past marshals, valentine kings and queens,and seniors of the year were honored.

2016 – Dorothy Eygabroad, parade marshal and John Boyd, Valentine King. 2017 – Robert Gamble, parade marshal and Ray and Sue LaVergne, Valentine King and Queen, 2018 – Elaine Jackson, parade marshal and Wayne Brown. 2019 – Catherine Lindsey and Joseph Provos, Seniors of the Year.
