ORDINANCE NO. 920
An Ordinance to sell Immovable property located on Pine Street to Lake Area Dentistry,- DeQuincy, LLC
The City Council of the City of DeQuincy, State of Louisiana, met in regular session on the 10th day of February 2020, and adopted the following Ordinance regarding the sale of immovable property from the City of DeQuincy to Lake Area Dentistry – DeQuincy, LLC.
WHEREAS, the City of DeQuincy has been contacted by Jeffery A. Hennigan, Manager of Lake Area Dentistry, LLC, regarding the purchase of the property located on Pine Street.
WHEREAS, The City Council has determined in accordance with LRS 33:4712 that the subject property is not needed for public purposes and that the price of $72,500.00 offered for the property by Lake Area Dentistry – DeQuincy, LLC, is fair and reasonable and should be accepted.
WHEREAS, the City Council has further determined that the proposed use of the property by Lake Area Dentistry – DeQuincy, LLC, for the construction of a Dental Office and related matters will be a welcome addition to downtown DeQuincy.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council that Mayor Riley Smith is hereby authorized to execute an Act of Cash Sale from the City of DeQuincy to Lake Area Dentistry – DeQuincy, LLC, for the sum and price of $72,500.00, to be paid in cash upon proper execution and delivery of the said Act of Cash Sale. The property to be sold by the City of DeQuincy to Lake Area Dentistry – DeQuincy, LLC, is described as follows:
The North Half of Lot 8, all of Lot 9, all of Lot 10, and the South Half of Lot 11 of Block 13 of the Original Town Site AKA Old Town Site to the City of DeQuincy, a subdivision in the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (NE/4 of SE/4) of Section 18, Township 7 South, Range 10 West, as per plat recorded in Plat Book 2, page 230, records of Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, together with all improvements situated thereon.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that Mayor Riley Smith is hereby authorized to execute any and all other papers, documents and acts necessary to complete the sale of the above described property by the City of DeQuincy to Lake Area Dentistry – DeQuincy, LLC, with the said papers, documents, and acts containing such terms, conditions and provisions as he in his discretion deems meet and proper.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance shall become effective ten (10) days after its passage.
This Ordinance was declared duly adopted this 10th day of February, 2020.
