George Washington “Buddy” Phillips, Jr., a resident of Starks was born July 11, 1944 and passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020 at the age of 75.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Bloodworth Phillips; children, Lana Phillips, Tracy LeBlanc and husband, Lynn, Valerie Phillips and husband David Waller, Amy Phillips, and Timothy Phillips; step-son Paul Douglas Young and wife, Susan; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Donald Phillips and wife, Evelyn; and sister, Bonnie Marcantel.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Allen Phillips; parents, George Washington Phillips, Sr. and Ethel Edna Gibson Phillips; and brother, Terry Lynn Phillips.
The family received friends Saturday, Feb. 15, from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. The visitation and funeral service were held at First Pentecostal Church, 225 Hwy. 109 S., Starks. Pastor Karl Smith and Bro. Lanny Gibson officiated. Interment followed at Fountain Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
