Evelyn Miller was born Mar. 11, 1943 and passed away at her residence in Starks on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 at the age of 76.
Evelyn is survived by her brothers, Johnnie Elton Miller and George “P C” Miller and wife, “Bootsy” of Starks; her nieces, Mona Meadows and husband, Keith, Diane Howard and Johnai Miller of Starks; nephews, Keith Dale Howard and wife, Kathy of Starks and Kendall Howard and wife, Kendra of Port Neches, Texas, Chans Miller and Pete Miller and wife, Candace of Starks, along with numerous great nieces, great nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Ima Miller; sisters, Frances Miller and Lynette Howard and her husband, James; and nephew, James “Jimmy” Howard.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers who have taken care of Evelyn during her lifetime, especially Connie O’bannon, Marcia Granger and Elmira Fontenot with Dr. Jalel Joudeh, his staff and Harbor Hospice.
Family received friends on Monday, Feb. 24, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church, located at 225 Hwy 109 in Starks with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Pastor Karl Smith officiated and interment followed at Miller Cemetery Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
