Billie Fisher

Billie Frances Conerly Fisher was born Aug. 2, 1924 and passed away Tuesday, Mar. 10, 2020 at the age of 95. Billie was a faithful member of First Baptist Church on DeQuincy where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and played in the First Baptist Handbells. She loved cooking, gardening and sewing. Billie worked as an accountant at McNeese State University and Louisiana Correctional & Industrial School. She was a member of the Friendship Club, the Eastern Star and also served as a Boy Scout Leader.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances Bolick and husband, Jim of Sugarland, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Wesley Paul Fisher, Sr.; sons, Paul Fisher and James O. Fisher; and sister, Sewilla Way.

The family received friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Mar. 13, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy and the funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 14, at First Baptist Church, located at 201 South Pine Street, DeQuincy. Pastor Gil Arthur and Rev. Jim Fisher officiated. Interment followed at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 West Fourth Street, DeQuincy.
