Sillersteen Daniels “MaDear” Snell died on Sunday, May 3, 2020.
She was born in DeQuincy and attended Grand Avenue High School. She worked at Whatley’s Cleaners and Boise Southern. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Starks.
She is survived by five children, Dr. Sandra Banks Taylor, Carol Hopkins Scott, and Arlesa Cotlong Clark; Robert Cotlong Jr. and Kenneth Cotlong; siblings, Ardisteel Daniels, Edgar Faulk, Dillard Faulk, Yvonne Steward, Bessie Johnson, Brenda Smith and Linda Shields; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rady and Bessie Daniels; husband, Walter Lee Snell; two brothers; two sisters; grandsons, Edward Joseph Broussard, Edward Junius Broussard, Jr., and Ricky Clark; and granddaughter, Krishna Brock..
Funeral service was held on Friday, May 8, at King’s Funeral Home. Burial followed in Community Cemetery in DeQuincy under the direction of King’s Funeral Home.
