The DeQuincy Senior Center has a new coordinator, Anita Nunez of Sweetlake.
Nunez is a high school graduate of Frienship Baptist Christian School. She was a former bakery/deli manager at Market Basket in Moss Bluff.
She is married to John Nunez, formerly of Creole. They have three children, Nathon Huffman, Jacob Nunez and Blake Nunez; and two great-grandchildren, Shadd and Brinlee Huffman.
She said, “I am very excited to meet all our seniors and be of any assistance.”

Limited activities at the DeQuincy Senior Center for the month of July will be:
Tuesday, July 7 – 10-11 a.m., Meet & Greet Anita Nunez, the new coordinator.
Thursday, July 9 – 9 a.m., Parking Lot Bingo.
Monday, July 13 – 10:30-11:30 a.m., Monthly Luncheon Spaghetti dinner, Drive Thru only.
Thursday, July 16 – 9 a.m., Parking Lot Bingo.
Thursday, July 23 – 9 a.m., Parking Lot Bingo.
Thursday, July 30 – 9 a.m., Parking Lot Bingo.

Many businessess have supported the Senior Center. Items are being sought for Bingo prizes and door prizes. Monetary donations are being accepted as well.
