Johnnie Derwood (Woody) Bussell was born Feb. 5, 1947 in Starks and passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2020 at the age of 73.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon Bussell; daughters, Joyce (BB) Stewart and husband, Mark, Marla Stephenson and husband, Kurt, Penny Foster and husband, Scott and son, Shane Bussell all of Starks; seven grandchildren, Jessica Crawford, Brandi Brister, Elizabeth Thrailkille, Haley Cormier, Chelsea Bennett, Hunter Foster and Triston Bussell. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Nora, Marren, Hayes, Fisher, Case, Lynlee Lucille, Griffin, Levi, Harper, Anisten and Holden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Delphia Bussell; and his brother, Buck Bussell.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19 at Calvary Apostolic Church, 4270 Highway 12, Starks and the funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20 at Calvary Apostolic Church. Pastor Jeremy Shields will be officiating. Interment will follow at Fountain Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
