Dortha Ann Banken was born Nov. 22, 1943 in DeQuincy and passed away at her residence in Sulphur on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020. She was employed as a nurse working in the Emergency Room at Christus Saint Patrick’s Hospital in Lake Charle and as a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager at Conoco Phillips.
She is survived by her brothers, John William Banken and wife, Donna of Bridge City, Texas and J. C. Banken and wife, Cathy of DeQuincy; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Henry Banken and Letha Marcantel Banken; and one brother, Marlin Marcantel.
The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Interment to follow at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
